‘Dead zones’ is a short documentary made by Suzette Bousema, in collaboration with cameraman and editor Kobin Majid. Thanks to the collaboration of NIOZ, NIOO, WUR, UU, Natuur & Milieu, Farm of the Future, Seaweedfarm VOF ‘t Veersche Wier.

In the summer 2022, Suzette and I dove into one of the dead zones located in Verse meer, Netherlands. When diving, I had the chance to record the natural landscape scounds of the location. In 2024  I have composed a soundtrack for this project in a music residency in the countryside of Estonia using these field recordings and experimenting new sounds with my experimental instrument Knurl.
